Located approximately 25 miles north of San Diego is the easy going and family friendly Encinitas. Encinitas is bordered by Batiquitos Lagoon to the north, San Elijo Lagoon to the south and the Pacific Ocean on the west.

Made up of five separate communities each with their own unique style, Encinitas inludes Olivenhain, Cardiff, Leucadia, Old Encinitas, and New Encinitas. Old Encinitas is a quiet, casual, laid back village with surf shops, one-of-a-kind specialty shops and restaurants, and older homes and cottages. For a more modern suburbia, New Encinitas has newer homes, large retail shopping centers and highly-rated schools.

Known as the Flower Capital of the World, agriculture is huge business in Encinitas and greenhouses are sprinkled throughout the area. Quail Botanical Gardens is a wonderful place to view plants from around the world.

If you like to golf, you should check out Encinitas Ranch Golf Course. It is located on rolling hills overlooking the Pacific Ocean, and its breathtaking views are one of the City’s highlights. Parks, recreation centers, ball fields, soccer fields, a skateboard park, even a bicycle stunt park are all easily accessible. Encinitas provides 6 miles of beaches, and Surfer magazine named it one of the top ten surfing spots in the country. The trail system in Encinitas Ranch is one of the best and offers hikers and runners terrific views of the back country.
